The Asia Student Package Design Competition (ASPaC) is an international cultural exchange project aimed at grooming talented young designers of Asia so as to create a common future driven by “Asia”, “Students” and “Design”.
This project is organized and promoted by Japan Foundation, ASPaC Association and Japan Package Design Association (JPDA), with the support of public institutions, design associations, corporate companies and academic institutions of the participating countries and regions. ASPaC’s visions are to enhance international cultural exchange between Japan and Asia, as well as to foster the ability to create our own future and soar to greater heights.

ASPaC Award

ASPaC awards are given to outstanding student participants in the Asia Package Design Competition (ASPaC). Award-winning entries will be publicly exhibited in the participating countries and regions.

Company Visits

ASPaC award winners will take part in specially arranged company visits where they learn about the importance of design while deepening their understanding of the company cultures and activities.

Forums and Workshops

We carry out workshops at universities and also organize company and design forums, in order to enhance mutual understanding among the companies, design industries and students.

Interaction Among Global Talents

We reinforce interactions among global talents through our program and construct a robust relationship connecting students, companies and other stakeholders to a greater future.

Award Winning Entries
of ASPaC Awards 2016

In ASPaC Awards 2016, we received a total of more than 3000 applications from the participating countries and regions- 600 from Japan, 193 from Republic of Korea, 1600 from China, 350 from Thailand, 150 from Indonesia and 107 from Taiwan.

The first round of screening is carried out by ASPaC’s supporting organizations in the respective countries, where selected entries are sent to Japan for the next round of screening. After the final round of screening, 24 final entries are selected for the following awards: Grand Prize (1), Gold Prize (2), Silver Prize (2), Bronze Prize (2), ASPaC Chairman Prize (1), JPDA Prize (1), Japan Foundation Prize (5), Ajinomoto Prize (1), DNP Prize (1), Benedict Prize (1), DIC Graphics Prize (1), Excellence Award (6).

With the addition of two new countries and regions in ASPaC 2016, we have six participating countries this year and also an increase in the number of prizes awarded. (18 prizes in 2014, 24 in 2016) The award ceremony took place at the Event Hall on the second floor of Bunkyo Civic Center, where prizes were given out to the students.

The award-winning and selected entries will be recorded in ASPaC Records 2016 (tentatively). Tokyo Exhibition of Award-Winning Entries: 09:00 ~ 17:00, 17th ~ 23rd January 2017 at 2nd Floor Lobby of DIC Head Office Building (Nihombashi)
Osaka Exhibition of Award-Winning Entries: 09:00 ~ 17:00, 7th ~ 21st February 2017 at Paper Voice Osaka (Nagahoribashi)
*The Osaka Exhibition is closed on weekends and national holidays.
*After the Osaka Exhibition, the award-winning entries will be exhibited in the participating countries and regions.
